Good to know
From classic oak planks to wide boards and character grades, we supply and fit hardwood floors that suit the room and the way you live. We acclimatise the timber, prepare the subfloor properly and fit with the right fixing method for the boards.
Solid timber suits bedrooms, living rooms and studies; for kitchens or rooms with underfloor heating we will usually steer you to engineered boards and explain why.
Common questions
Which rooms suit solid hardwood?
Living rooms, bedrooms, studies and hallways are ideal. We usually recommend engineered boards instead for kitchens, basements and rooms with underfloor heating.
How do I look after a hardwood floor?
Sweep or vacuum grit regularly, wipe spills promptly and use felt pads under furniture. An oiled floor can be topped up in worn areas; lacquered floors just need the right cleaner.
Can a hardwood floor be refinished later?
Yes. Solid boards can be sanded and refinished several times over their life, which is one of the big advantages of real timber.
